President’s Report
Welcome to the BSCAA October 2020 newsletter
October is the month of National Mental Health (NMH). This year’s theme for NMH is Mental Health Matters.
Mental Health Month is an excellent opportunity for employers to promote positive well-being in the workplace. Acceptable practices that protect and promote mental health in the workplace include;
- implementation and enforcement of health and safety policies and procedures;
- informing staff that support is available;
- involving employees in decision-making, conveying a feeling of control and participation; organisational practices that support a healthy work-life balance;
- programmes for the career development of employees; and
- recognising and rewarding the contribution of employees.
