This session is designed to provide practical, first‑hand guidance on how to obtain a labour hire licence, understand your obligations under the amended laws, and ensure your business is compliant before the transition period ends.

Labour Hire Licensing in South Australia

Significant changes to South Australia’s labour hire licensing laws now mean all labour hire providers and workers are covered, not just those in previously prescribed sectors.

Previously, licensing applied only to:

• Horticulture processing
• Meat processing
• Seafood processing
• Cleaning
• Trolley collection

From 29 January 2026, the scheme applies across all industries, with a six‑month transition period currently underway.

Representatives from Consumer and Business Services will explain:

• Who is now required to hold a labour hire licence
• How to apply and what evidence is required
• Compliance obligations for both labour hire providers and host businesses
• Penalties for operating without a licence
• What must be done before 29 July 2026, when the transition period ends
